National Geographic World Atlas App Reviews

Rip off, I hoped for more. It is just a big globe with few facts and much of the info for the country is so limited that there was not even the name of the Capital city. The main languages were not complete and when one wishes to go into the map of the country it is a big boring map. I cannot even give it one star.

This was a fantastic app! I emphasize the word WAS. Now, I seldom use it because the HD maps are all gone and all thats left is a barely visible and very unclear map. Seriously, as soon as you zoom in theres no clarity whatsoever! Whats even more annoying - and I mean ultra-annoying - is that you cant ever point at any area of the map without learning silly things such as that this is the Atlantic Ocean or Timbuktu or whatever.. It is so frustrating, every time you try to show an area of the map this silly bubble pops up explaining what country youre pointing at or some other ridiculous info I never asked for. Im so disappointed with what used to be a fantastic app! In fact this was my favorite iPhone and iPad app! Shame on you for destroying it! ☹️☹️☹️☹️☹️

I reviewed this app a few years ago, and I loved. You could download detailed maps and use them offline, something that was important to me. Havent used it in a while, so I was surprised yesterday when I launched it and discovered that it had been gutted. I was on an airplane and flying out into the Atlantic from the coast of Portugal. Opened the app thinking Id be able get an idea of where I was. Well, surprise! There is virtually no detail whatsoever. In fact, I wouldnt even call it an atlas anymore, its now an almanac with useless maps. Sad.

Having had this app since iPads and apps were invented, and watched it turn from fabulous to worse than bad, I am waiting for an update to actually bring back old features that were so incredible. Waiting. Waiting. Has everyone left for the day?
