National Geographic World Atlas App Reviews

I wish I hadnt upgraded; it is now mostly dysfunctional with no useful zoom to larger scale map views.

The most recent changes have taken what was a usable map program with basic but useful information to a much less capable map program with an interface that offers extra factoids - whether you want them or not - but, it seems, significantly less cartographic information. Not really what I expected from this distinguished organization.

Dont waste your money. Just not intuitive and difficult to navigate. Free apple or google maps apps are much better.

Dont buy it is a waste of your money and gets worse with every update. You can find much more detail and information for free.

Most disappointing change from previous version. Cannot move previous pin locations, Cant zoom to greater map detail. Previously saved pins have disappeared. Waste of time to enter pins.

Used to be great, but the new update it is now useless. Cant even see city names with wifi.

What did they do to this atlas? I used to love it and in the past recommended it to my friends. Now it is almost useless and no fun at all. I would not recommend it at all now.

Go back to previous version. Can t see ant details off line.. Useless

Feeling ripped off. Paid ten dollars a couple years ago new version is crap. Cannot zoom in like before. Want my money back!!

Version 4.1.1 is extremely disappointing. The maps, with wifi on, are okay but don’t use the search button otherwise 1/3 of the screen is devoted to the countries of the world or 1/4 of the screen, if you select a country, and you can’t turn this off unless you retrace your steps back to the beginning - a real pain.

It takes too long to open compared to the old version, which was basically perfect. I just want high-quality maps stored locally on my device that i can get at quickly. I definitely do not want daily skills testing notifications!

As a non-stop world traveler, I used this almost every day before the update. Now with blurry maps and no zoom it is utterly useless.

This upgrade is worse than crap. It is totally useless.

"Upgrade" normally means an improvement. Guess they dont understand that! Terrible improvement. Would love to figure out how to get the old version back.

First of all, the layout looks a lot nicer and more functional...except that its not functioning properly. The app quits too often now, pins that you add disappear or dont show up at all. The zoom quality isnt very good. Most of the time it is very unfocused, and if you zoom in, some parts focus while others dont. Also, the text becomes too big and everything looks very jumbled. Please fix! Thank you!

This used to be my go to app for a global map. Today I wanted to look up a border area and was taken to the area but with such low greenish lighting (why, is this supposed to represent night ?) that I couldnt see anything. I like the bright classic look and would have been happiest with this simplicity, or at least to be able to set those preferences. Also couldnt easily zoom in and out to get different views.

This is a ridiculous app and waste of money. The new version is worst than the old one. I would like to enter a citys name and have a result or choices. The search engine is awful. There is no point in having a map app that doest tell you where a city is!

This app should be banned from the App Store, its that bad. There is very little scope to zero in on a geographic area. I would be most happy to pay for a cloud based app that d/l local detail, but like all the other reviewers, I honestly feel that this attempt is garbage. Michael Smith
