Add currency used in a country

I bought this app because I wanted an iPhone version of the printed Nat. Geo. Atlas of the World to use while traveling. This is not that...the less major locations on the print version dont plot and arent availableon the app. So you only get a very poor atlas in my opionion. They say you can cache maps for offline use, but that doesnt seem to be the case....another disappointment. Also I dont like ythe way the interface works as sometimes you get a combination of two zoom levels plotting at once. You can get around that issue but its just irritating. The rest of the app is devoted to other useless information about countries around the world......there are better free apps for that stuff.

More like a real globe now, only "much better". Best globe Ive ever had. Beautiful.

When NatGeo lost its deal with Bing for detailed mapping this app stopped being useful. I am so disappointed.

I loved this app and used it all the time. Since the changed it, its basically useless and now just takes up space

I used to love this app! I live in a university town and get to meet so many people from around the world. Every time I met someone, I USED to be able to quickly tap on the globe, zoom in for a high level of detail where I could see roads, drop a pin, and easily see a snapshot summary in the margin about the country, the capital, or even the city, if it was a large one. It was cool to keep track of all the people I had met and open this app up and engage in conversation with the person. NOW, I dont even bother. Whoever thought this new interface was better and easier to use was WRONG!! Bring back the old. New isnt always better.

Simple pocket resource to check places on the globe. Works well, doesnt crash. Google earth is quite awful for geographical exploration (try to search for a river on it), but NatGeo delivers.

With your latest updates, product is worthless. Used it all the time to follow international events. Now...UHG! Grew up with our Nat Geo magazine in a town of 1500--our window on the world. Cant believe you arent embarrassed to have your name associated with this app. Sob.....

Could you please add world leaders to this app? Its a beautiful app but I would ❤️❤️❤️❤️ to be able to see the current leader for each country. It would be very educational. Thank you.

Great app, but Im puzzled as to why there is no landscape-orientation mode.

I would expect Nat Geo to be able to produce an app that was actually useful. Their first attempt at this app was a disaster: it crashed 90% of the time. They fixed it by removing its useful information. Whats left should be an embarrassment to the proud history of Nat Geo. Shame in you guys! If I were you, Id have withdrawn this from the Apple Store a long time ago.

3D globe with great circle distances - perfect

I searched for a simple globe app, and this is perfect. All the other apps are cluttered with interactive "features" that defeat the purpose of a globe. All the naysayers should just get those. Want an easy way to show someone why you go north when flying from Chicago to Mumbai? Get this app - the great circle route distance feature is a big plus.

The app is decent and exactly what I wanted. However, Im a little upset that I spent money on an older version of the same thing. Im sure theyll decide to stop supporting this one in a year or so and make us buy a new one.

Nice APP but still needs improvement. For instance I cannot read the font. It is extremely small. So far I use it to look at maps only. The idea is right but it needs improvement.

I am so disappointed- Ive carefully saved pins in my app over the past few years and with the recent update they all disappeared. Totally frustrated... Gotta find a new app :(

The previous version of this app was great! The current/latest update is horrible; a disaster. Please make future updates to change the app back to its previous functionality. The previous version had more detail (better maps) and was quicker and more ergonomic. The current version restarts every time you reselect the app. The measuring tool and pin functionality are very poor. -Dissatisfied Customer

This used to be a great app. I cant believe National Geographic would give up all the useful functions for the for the glossy but ultimately useless digital globe they offer now. The only people giving this globe a high rating are those that never had the previous version. I used to use this app for traveling the world for work, but now it is completely useless to me. Previous functionalities that are now gone: Cache street-level Bing maps for offline use. Now it only goes to a level of detail you would find on a world wall map. Fully customizable pins. You used to be able to assign colors and categories to pins. I had over 130 with various colors and notes assigned. It did import them all to the new version, but dumped them in a category called "imported" and wont let me edit, move, or reassign the category. The app crashes if I try to edit them at all. Currency Conversion. The app used to pull realtime and historical currency rates and had a great currency calculator that would work even if you were offline. Now it has nothing. Weather and local time. The app used to pull weather for the capitals and anywhere you dropped a pin. It would also give you local time, daylight savings info and national holidays. Nothing like that now. That is all I can think of off the top of my head, but Im getting depressed thinking of how they gutted this app for style over substance. Dont spend money on this thing, there are so many better free travel apps out there.
